FIVE-MINUTE WONDER!

Springboard to creativity:

-Write a paragraph from the point of view of a ten-year-old boy.
- Take yesterday's scene (created from one of your photographs) and turn it into a poem.

- Find a photo from your own family album. Write a scene around the character or characters in the photo.

**********

- Write 5 original similes that could describe a character in a story. Note: "She was as cool as a cucumber" is NOT original!

- Write a paragraph on what you cared about when you were five years old.

- Titles are Important: take 10 "winning" titles from well-known novels and rewrite the titles as "losers." Here's are two examples:

Winner: The Old Man and the Sea

Loser: Forever Fishing

Winner: Moby-Dick

Loser: On Board with a Mad Captain

- take a line from a popular song and use it as the opening to a short scene (in a short story or play).

**********
